The East Coweta Lady
Indians went on a scoring spree in the top of the second inning and
came away with an 8-0 win over the Northgate Lady Vikings in a junior
varsity game played Thursday afternoon.
After being retired
in order in the top of the first, EC went to work as Olivia Cook led
off with a walk and after Ansley Duffey hit a sacrifice bunt two more
walks loaded the bases for Kaliyah Matthews.
Matthews was hit by
a pitch that allowed Cook to score and a walk to Jaliyah Holmes
scored Macie Wiggins from third to give the Lady Indians a 2-0- lead.
A single by Kenadie
Cooper scored Ashleigh Griffin while Katie Taylor had a sacrifice fly
RBI before Ansley Gunter had a two-run single that increased the lead
to 6-0 and the scoring came to an end as Cook scored on a single by
Duffey.
That appeared to be
enough for Kylie Ferguson who retired the side in the bottom of the
second inning and gave her teammates a chance to add to the lead.
The final run of the
game for EC came in the top of the fourth inning came as Taylor led
off with a walk, stole second and came home on a single by Cook.
After a tough fourth
inning, Ferguson recovered in the bottom of the fifth to end the game
