EC wins on "Lulu Night"

It was "Lulu Night" for the
East Coweta Lady Indians as
senior Lindsay "Lulu" Warren
was honored on Senior Night
SHARPSBURG-Thursday night may have been “Lulu Night” on the East Coweta softball field, but it was a freshman and two sophomores who did the offensive damage in a 9-0 win over the Chapel Hill Lady Panthers.
The win improved the Lady Indians overall record to 21-4 as they begin play next Tuesday at home in the Region 2-AAAAAAA Tournament with a game against the Westlake Lady Lions.
Marking the evening was Senior Night or in this case Lulu Night as the Lady Indians’ only senior Lindsay “Lulu” Warren was honored in her last regular season game before starting a collegiate career at Georgia State University.
The Lady Indians took the lead with two outs in the bottom of the second inning as Hanna Miller walked and Caison Byars singled before Caroline Lively reached on an infield error that allowed Miller to score.
Byars would give EC a 2-0 lead when she came home on a single off Chapel Hill starter Kira Morgan by Carmen Prior.
The Lady Indians threatened top add to the lead in the bottom of the third with two outs as Rachel Vaughan was hit by a pitch and Ashlynn Gunter reached on a walk but Morgan was able to leave the duo stranded after a strikeout ended the frame.
After recording the first out in the bottom of the fourth inning, Morgan ran into trouble as Lively reached on a walk and while Prior single and both runners moved as the left fielder misplayed the hit.
On her night, Warren came to the plate and the senior hit a ground ball to third but the ball was mishandled and she beat the throw to first while Lively came home to increase the lead to 3-0.
A single by Olivia Davis scored Prior from third then Kelley Lunch came to the plate and drilled the first offering she saw from Morgan and deposited the ball over the center field fence for a three-run home run and a 6-0 lead.
Lynch’s home run resulted in a pitching change as Kira Morgan was replaced by her sister Ashley on the rubber with Vaughan coming to the plate.
Ashley Morgan would also be victimized by her defense as Vaughan hit a ground ball in the infield that was mishandled and the junior pitcher would reach first on the play.
Lindsay "Lulu" Warren is shown at third during a game at Campbell recently
getting ready to score a run. Warren scored a run, recorded an RBI and caught
the final out of the game Thursday to preserve a 9-0 win.
After the second out of the frame was finally recorded, Miller followed with a single and on the play a throw got away from third which allowed courtesy runner Krys Odum to score and allow Miller to reach third.
Miller scored the final run of the game as Byars lined a double to give the freshman her second hit of the night.
The 9-0 advantage was more than enough for Vaughan who gave up a pair of singles to start the game before a caught stealing, a strikeout and a flyball to end the top of the first inning.
Vaughan, who tossed a three-hitter Wednesday night against Northgate, had a little trouble against Chapel Hill but got help from her defense to preserve a shutout that she shared with Lynch who took over with one out in the top of the fifth inning and two runners on base.
Lynch retired Bella Caricari on a strikeout and Paige Vincent hit a ball that was appropriately caught by Warren the senior that ended the game.

Northgate defeats EC in junior varsity softball finale

Northgate's Sarah Turi had a two-run double in the top
of the fifth inning after a run scoring single earlier.
SHARPSBURG-Sarah Turi went 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs including the go ahead run Wednesday evening as the Northgate Lady Vikings defeated the East Coweta Lady Indians 7-5 in a junior varsity softball game.
The game was the season finale for the Lady Indians who finished with a 13-4-1 record this year.
East Coweta took the lead in the bottom of the first inning when Kylie Ferguson led off with a bunt single and advanced to second on a sacrifice by Macie Wiggins.
After the second out of the inning, Kenadie Cooper singled and Ferguson was caught in a rundown before scoring on a throwing error.

In the bottom of the frame, the Lady Indians tied the game at 2-2 as Olivia Cook reached on a one out walk while Cooper and Caison Byars reached on one out singles before Ansley Duffey hit a sacrifice fly to left field.
Sasha Moraweitz pitched the first four innings for Northgate
Wednesday evening.
Northgate took the lead with one out in the top of the fifth inning as Baxter reached on an infield error and moved to second on a wild pitch before moving to third on a single by Edwards who would steal second to put both runners into scoring position.
Both would score when Turi hit an 0-1 offering from Aniston Wright for a two-run double that gave the visitors a 4-2 lead and after a pitching change and a groundout, Turi would score from third on a single by Natalie Heath.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, EC tried to chip away the 5-2 deficit as Ashleigh Campbell reached on a single to open the frame.
Eliza Kuhne entered the game as a pinch runner and moved into scoring position with a stolen base then came home on a one out double by Katie Taylor.
Kenadie Cooper went 3-for-4 at the plate for EC and had three
putouts in right field
The Lady Indians were unable to cut into the deficit any further as Lady Viking pitcher Alissa Bolinger induced a groundout and a strikeout to end the threat.
The Lady Vikings took a 7-3 lead in the top of the seventh inning as Gracie Storey doubled, Baxter returned to the game and stole second before moving to third on a groundout before scoring on a double by Maddie Maxey who scored on a double by Brandon.
Bolinger, who took over for Moraweitz in the fifth inning, found the bottom of the seventh inning somewhat tight as the Lady Indians tried to rally.
Cook, Cooper and Byars had consecutive singles that accounted for a run and after a groundout another run came home as Campbell hit a sacrifice fly to left field.
Cooper was 3-for-4 with a run scored while Byars was 2-for-4 in the game for the Lady Indians.
Ashleigh Griffin was awarded first on catcher’s interference and Taylor reached on a walk to load the bases but the rally came to an end as Ferguson hit a ground ball back to Bolinger who threw to first to end the game.

Vaughan hurls three-hitter, drives home three as EC defeats Northgate in five

Rachel Vaughan handled the Northgate Lady Vikings on the
pitching rubber by allowing three hits in an 8-0 five inning win.
SHARPSBURG-The East Coweta Lady Indians took advantage of fielding miscues with key hits including a two-run double by starting pitcher Rachel Vaughan Wednesday as they defeated the Northgate Lady Vikings 9-0 in a varsity softball game called after five innings.
The win improves the Lady Indians overall record to 20-4 as they prepare to host the 2015 Class AAAAA champion and one time nemesis Chapel Hill Lady Panthers in a non-region game beginning at 5:30 with a Senior Night ceremony preceding the contest for lone EC grad-to-be Lindsay “Lulu” Warren.
The Lady Indians took the initial lead in the bottom of the first inning as Olivia Davis reached on a one out double and advanced to third on a single by Kelley Lynch before coming coming home when Vaughan grounded out to short.
In the top of bottom of the second inning, EC added to the lead as Ashlynn Gunter reached on an infield error and after a pair of outs was able to get into scoring position before coming home on a single to left by Warren.
After being retired in order in the bottom of the third by Northgate starting pitcher Kaitlin Bailey, the Lady Indians were able to break open a close 2-0 lead.
Gunter led off with a single to center field and moved into scoring after Hanna Miller laid down a sacrifice bunt.
After moving to third on a dropped third strike, Gunter gave the Lady Indians a 3-0 lead as she scored on a sacrifice fly to left by Carmen Prior.
The ball was misplayed and courtesy runner Caison Byars followed Gunter home with another run while Prior raced around the bases and stopped at third.
Warren laid down a bunt single that allowed Prior to score and the lead grew to 5-0 but the former raced to second on the throw home and the attempt to get her at second failed as the ball was on a throwing error and Warren, who went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs, was able to score her second run of the game.
Davis and Lynch followed with consecutive singles that gave each 2-for-3 afternoons at the plate and both eventually scored on a double by Vaughan.
The top of the fifth inning was typical Vaughan as she surrendered a single to Brittany Trammell to open the frame but was part of a force play at second before recording a strikeout and a ground ball to end the game.
In five innings, Vaughan allowed Trammell’s single as one to Charla Echols in the first inning and a fourth inning double to Kelsey Williston.

Cooper gives EC win in extra inning JV game

Kylie Ferguson had a bunt single in the top of the
eighth and scored the winning run.
SHARPSBURG-A single by Kenadie Cooper allowed Kylie Ferguson to score the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the East Coweta Lady Indians a 3-2 win over the Alexander Lady Cougars in the junior varsity game played Monday.
The Lady Indians improve to 12-3-1 as they prepare to close their schedule Wednesday evening against the Northgate Lady Vikings.
Trailing 2-1, Katie Taylor opened the frame on second base under the International Tie Breaker rule and moved to third on an infield single by Ferguson.
Ferguson stole second and with one out, Olivia Cook singled to allow Taylor to come home to tie the game at 2-2.
Cooper became the hero of the game as she hit the first pitch past the Alexander center fielder and Ferguson came home with the final run of the game.
Ansley Duffey hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second
inning of the game and had a fourth inning single.
The Lady Indians took the initial lead in the bottom of the second inning as Ansley Duffey drilled a 1-1 offering over the left field fence for a solo home run that stood until the top of the sixth inning as the Lady Cougars tied the contest with two outs.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Lady Indians had a chance to score the winning run as Duffey reached on an infield error and took second on a sacrifice bunt by Ashleigh Campbell and moved to third on a groundout but was unable to get any further as Taylor grounded out to send the game into extra frames.
Alexander took the lead in the top of the eighth inning on a double and after an error and a walk the bases were loaded with nobody out.

However, the Lady Indians recovered as a line drive was hit to Campbell at second who tossed the ball to Cook at first for a double play and the inning ended on a ground ball back to Ferguson on the pitching rubber.

Lynch pitches and hits EC to victory

The pitcher known as Kelley Lynch allowed one hit and
had 14 strikeouts in the 3-0 win over Alexander
The hitter known as Kelly Lynch had a double
and a home run to account for all of the runs.

SHARPSBURG-Kelley Lynch provided the offense as well as the pitching as she drove home all of the runs while tossing a one hit, 14 strikeout effort in a 3-0 win over the Alexander Lady Cougars in a non-region softball matchup played Monday.
The win improves the Lady Indians’ overall record to 19-4 on the season with a non region home game against the Northgate Vikings slated to begin at 4:30.
After missing an opportunity to get on the board in the bottom of the second inning, the Lady Indians were able to register a tally in the bottom of the third inning as Caroline Lively was hit by a pitch to lead off the frame.
With one out, Olivia Davis reached on a walk and a sacrifice bunt by Lulu Warren moved Davis and courtesy runner Krys Odum into scoring position for Lynch.
Lynch, who tossed a one-hitter Saturday with 10 strikeouts in a 1-0 loss to Buford, followed by lining the first pitch she would see into left center field allowing Odum and Davis to come home to give EC a 2-0 lead.
The cushion proved to be enough for Lynch who allowed a single in the top of the second inning but she had her strikeout ball in effect as nine of the next 11 batters went down on strike three.
Meanwhile, Lynch added to her cause one more time in the game as she led off the bottom the bottom of the sixth inning by drilling a 1-1 offering over the center field fence for her first home run of the season.
Lynch made it through the top of the seventh inning as she retired the side in order with one batter going down by strikeout.

The East Coweta Lady Indians have a team meeting
after a recent game. The Lady Indians had a team effort
Friday in wins over Shiloh and West Laurens.
LILBURN-This season, the East Coweta Lady Indians have needed help from the freshman class and that was the case Friday evening as the won two games in the Ram Classic Tournament at Shiloh High School.
In game one, freshmen Hanna Miller, Ansley Duffey and Caroline Lively and junior Ashlynn Gunter each had two hits in a 7-3 win over the Shiloh Generals while “graybeard” Lulu Warren joined Gunter, Aniston Wright and Miller in the two hit parade while three freshman had one hit each in an 8-4 win over the West Laurens Lady Raiders.
The Lady Indians improved to 18-2 on the season with the victories and will face Buford (18-1) and Northside (Columbus)(18-3) in tournament games at Parkview with games at 9:00 and 11:00 respectively.
In the opening game, the Lady Indians took the lead in the top of the second inning as Miller, Duffey and Lively had three consecutive single to score a run and Warren contributed with an RBI single to give EC a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Indians added to the lead in the top of the fifth inning with some two out magic as Wright singled and moved to third on a double by Gunter before Miller came to the plate and delivered a two-run single and the lead was 4-0.
Meanwhile, Rachel Vaughn was in control on the pitching rubber until she ran into trouble in the bottom of the fifth inning as the Lady Generals came back with three runs to cut the margin to 4-3.
However, the Lady Indians got the runs back in the top of the sixth inning as Krys Odum came off the bench to reach on a single, Caison Byars (another freshman) reached on a bunt single and an error on a sacrifice by Warren allowed Odum to score.
A groundout by Carmen Prior scored Byars and another Shiloh error on a sacrifice allowed Vaughn to reach second and Warren to come home with the final run of the game.
The Lady Generals tried to rally in the bottom of the sixth inning with a pair of runners on base but Vaughn ended the threat as she induced a ground ball back to the pitching rubber and was able to silence their bats in the bottom of the seventh inning by retiring the side in order.
In the second game, the Lady Indians struck early with three runs in the top of the first inning as Warren singled, Prior walked and Wright singled before Gunter came through with a one out double that brought the first two home with Odum scoring from third on a bases loaded walk to Lively.
The Lady Raiders came back in the bottom of the second inning with two runs to cut the margin to 3-2, but the Lady Indians responded with two outs in the top of the third inning as Miller singled and Duffey doubled before contributed with a two-run single to center and the lead was 5-3.

Duffinator and Byars lead the way at the plate, Fergy strong on pitching rubber as EC JV defeats Northgate

Olivia Cook had an RBI single in the top of the fifth
inning and scored the tying run in the same frame.
Caison Byars would have a day where she had impact on two games while Ansley Duffey was at it again with two runs scoring doubles Wednesday as the East Coweta Lady Indians defeated the Northgate Lady Vikings 5-3 in a junior varsity softball matchup.
The Lady Indians, who defeated the Lady Vikings 9-8 on the same field two weeks ago, improved to 12-3-1 on the season.
The Lady Vikings were the early aggressor as Alexis Brandon led off the bottom of the second with a single and a sacrifice bunt by Maggie Donaldson moved a courtesy runner to second who would score\ the game’s first run on a double by Sara Turi.
Northgate added to the lead in the bottom of the third inning as Gracie Storey led off with a single and came home on a double by Hope Futral and a pitching change was made by EC from Mollie Peacock to Kylie Ferguson.
Ferguson was greeted by a double off the bat of Brandon and another run scored as Futral crossed home plate.
The Lady Vikings were unable to score any more runs as Ferguson settled into a rhythm as she retired 12 of the next 13 batters to give the Lady Indians a chance to rally in the game.
Northgate's Alissa Bolinger held the EC at bay until
the fifth when the Lady Indians score four runs to take
the lead .
Alissa Bolinger manged to keep the Lady Indians off the scoreboard until the top of the fourth inning as Byars reached first on a force play, stole second and moved to third on a throwing error before coming home on Duffey’s first run scoring double of the day.
Bolinger retired the next two batters in the fourth and opened the fifth by surrendering a double to Katie Taylor before retiring the next two batters on a groundout and strikeout that gave her a chance to avert a rally.
Unfortunately for the Northgate pitcher, the third out didn’t come as Olivia Cook singled to score Taylor to cut the margin to 3-2 and Kenadie Cooper followed with a bunt single for Byars who would eventually find herself having impact for the first time of the day.
With an 0-1 count, Byars would make herself known with a double to left that brought Cook and Cooper home to give the Lady Indians a 4-3 lead.
Duffey, who recorded her first varsity hit and RBI in the 20-2 win over Wheeler on Tuesday, collected her second RBI double in the game with a shot to left center and Byars collected her second run of the game as she crossed the plate.
At that point, Bolinger was replaced on the pitching rubber and the inning ended after that as Ashleigh Griffin hit a flyball to left field.
Next for the Lady Indians will be a junior varsity game on Monday at 5:00 in Sharpsburg against an Alexander team they defeated 6-1 on August 11 in Douglasville.

Lynch records 16 K's wins pitching duel over Trammell as EC defeats Northgate

Pitching is a key in the game of fastpitch softball and that was proven Wednesday night at Northgate as the Lady Vikings hosted the East Coweta Lady Indians in a non-region contest between local rivals.
Kelley Lynch of the Lady Indians allowed one hit and recorded 16 strikeouts over seven innings while Brittany Trammell of the Lady Vikings allowed six hits and had seven strikeouts in her complete game.
However, there had to be a winner and a loser in this pitching duel and it was Lynch as a groundout by Rachel Vaughn accounted for the only run of the game in a 1-0 victory for the Lady Indians
By virtue of the victory, the Lady Indians will take a 16-2 record into the Elite Sports Classic on Friday while the Lady Vikings will take an 11-5-1 record into the same event which will be played in Gwinnett County.
Both pitchers set the style of game early as each recorded a pair of strikeouts in retiring the side in the first inning.

Brittany Trammell of Northgate had a strong outing on the
pitching rubber as well by allowing six hits and recording seven
strikeouts Wednesday night.
The Lady Indians had an opportunity to get on the board in the top of the second inning as Vaughn drilled a shot to center field that almost became a home run but Lady Viking center fielder Kelsey Williston robbed her with one of two great catches in the outfield.
The scoreless tie was broken in the top of the fourth inning as Lynch led off for EC with a single to left field and Caison Byars was sent into the game.
With Vaughn at bat, Byars stole second base and while the Northgate infield was not paying attention took off for third with another steal before eventually scoring when Vaughn grounded out to shortstop Ashley Kent.
The 1-0 lead apparently was enough for Lynch who retired the first 11 batters she faced in the game and flirted with a perfect game until Echols had a two-out single in the bottom of the fourth inning.
However, Lynch recovered by retiring the next seven batters in order with all going down by strikeout.
Trammell struggled some in her later innings as the Lady Indians threatened to score some insurance runs in the top of the fifth inning as Caroline Lively reached on a walk and Carmen Prior reached on a bunt single.
However, Trammell would recover and retire the next two batters on strikeouts.
In the top of the sixth inning, EC threatened again to score after one out as Vaughn singled and after a strikeout, Ashlynn Gunter reached on a walk.
Once again Trammell survived the rally as Hanna Miller singled to left and pinch runner Krys Odum was sent home from second but the umpire ruled that she was out at the plate on a throw from left fielder Karlee Parrot to Echols behind the plate.
Trammell retired the side in order in the top of the seventh and gave Northgate a chance to rally in the bottom of the frame.
Caitlyn Cain reached first on an error to open the inning but was retired on a force play as Echols reached first.
Another Lady Indians’ error in the frame allowed Trinity Ingleston to reach first while courtesy runner MaKenna Scott advanced to second on the play.
Lynch recovered as Trammell hit a flyball to Lulu Warren in center field who threw to second for a double play as Scott was caught trying to go to third on the play and the game came to an end.

The Lady Indians improved to 13-2 overall and 4-0 on the season with a region game at Wheeler next Tuesday while the Lady Cougars fell to 3-1 and have a region game at home against Campbell that should guarantee them a second place finish in the regular season.
Lindsay "Lulu" Warren scored the first run of the game

In the top of the fourth inning, Newnan was able to break through as Hannah Scarbrough led off with a double to left center and after a single by Hailey Bloom was able to score the tying run on a one out single by Lesley Davis.
Lynch would retire the next two batters to prevent any further damage and keep the game tied at 1-1.
East Coweta responded in the bottom of the frame as Rachel Vaughn, Aniston Wright and Ashlynn Gunter reached on singles that loaded the bases.
Hanna Miller gave the Lady Indians the lead when she hit a 1-1 offering from Andrews into center field that scored pinch runner Krys Odum from third and Wright from second.

Meanwhile Lynch was almost untouchable after the top of the fourth inning as she retired 11 of the final 12 batters she faced with Sarah Vallery collecting a seventh inning single.

SHARPSBURG-The East Coweta Lady Indians got a measure of revenge Tuesday evening as they took care of miscues in the field by the Newnan Lady Cougars to come away with an 11-2 victory in a junior varsity softball matchup between the rivals.
The Lady Indians, who committed five errors in a 6-4 loss last week on the Lady cougars home field, improved to 9-3-1 on the season after the five inning victory.
Newnan took the initial lead of the game in the top of the first inning as KK Madrey reached on a leadoff single, advanced to second as Morgan Bruce was hit by a pitch and a sacrifice bunt advanced the two into scoring position.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Lady Indians added to the lead as Wiggins and Cook reached on walks while an infield error allowed Cooper to reach and load the bases for Byars who lined a two-run single and advanced to Cooper to third.

The final run of the frame came as Taylor scored after the Lady Cougars committed an infield error.
One more came home for the Lady Indians in the bottom of the fourth inning as Byars reached on a one out single, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch and came home when the throw to third was errant.

Four run first inning keys Newnan to win over EC

Newnan's Blythe Bates allowed two runs, four runs and record four strikeouts
in five innings and was 1-for-3 at the plate with an RBI.
Miscues in the field allowed the Newnan Lady Cougars to score four runs in the first inning and led to a 6-4 victory over the East Coweta Lady Indians in a junior varsity softball contest played between the two rivals Thursday.
The rivalry will resume Tuesday evening in Sharpsburg beginning at 4:30 with the varsity to begin shortly afterward in a key Region 2-AAAAAAA game.
KK Madrey opened the bottom of the first inning by reaching first on an infield error and advanced to second on a single by Morgan Bruce with the former able to score on an error that allowed Reagan London to reach on a sacrifice attempt.
Bruce, who advanced to third on an error, gave Newnan a 2-0 lead when she came home on a sacrifice fly to right by starting pitcher Blythe Bates.
Jenna Lyons followed by reaching first on a walk and advanced to second on a groundout.
Olivia Hessler lined the first pitch from EC starter Molly Peacock into center field for a single which allowed courtesy runner Marti Dunn and Lyons to score and conclude the scoring in the frame.
The Lady Indians, who fell to 8-3-1 on the season, had a chance to rally with one out in the top of the second as Ansley Duffey singled to right and Ashleigh Campbell was hit by a pitch, but Bates was able to escape further trouble by inducing a groundout and a strikeout.
In the top of the third inning, the Lady Indians cut into the lead in the top of the third inning as Kylie Ferguson, singled to right field and advanced to third on error before eventually scoring on a wild pitch.
Olivia Cook drilled a shot just missed being a home run as the ball fell short of the center field fence for a double and with two outs, would come home on a single to left field by Kenadie Cooper to cut the deficit to 4-2.
EC first baseman Olivia Cook holds a baserunner during the game.
Cook was 2-for-4 at the plate and scored twice.
However, Newnan would come back in the bottom of the inning with two important insurance runs to take a 6-2 lead.
London led off with a walk and Bates singled before a sacrifice by Lyons advanced courtesy runners Dunn and Makayla Arrington into scoring position.
A single by Gracie Goodwin brought Dunn home and resulted in a pitching change by EC.
After the pitching change, the Lady Cougars recorded the second run of the frame as Hessler hit a ground ball to third for her third RBI of the game.
The Lady Indians, who scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning against the Northgate Lady Vikings to pull off a victory on Wednesday, tried again to rally as Ashleigh Griffin and Eliza Kuhne reached on consecutive one out walks and each moved into scoring position on a wild pitch.
Ferguson was retired on strikeout and tried to beat the throw to first as the third strike was dropped.
She was retired on the throw but Kuhne tried to come home on the play but was out at the plate as the throw from first beat her.
The out was one of the scary moments of the game as Kuhne was slightly injured on the tag and had to be attended to by coaches and an athletic trainer.
After a few moments Kuhne left the game under her own power and is expected to recover.
Bates was replaced on the pitching rubber in the top of the sixth inning by Lyons who allowed a single to Wiggins while retiring three other batters in the frame.
In five innings, Bates allowed five hits, two runs, four runs and record four strikeouts.
However, another Lady Indian rally would force Lyons to struggle with one out in the top of the seventh inning as Madison Lecouna reached on an infield single and Cook followed with her second double of the game.
Lecouna tried to score from on a ball hit by Caison Byars but the throw home was in time to nail the former.

Cook was 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored while Cooper was also 2-for-4 at the plate and recorded three RBIs for the Lady Indians.
However, the game would come to an end as Duffey hit a groundball to third for the final out.

The Northgate Lady Indians scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, but the East Coweta Lady Indians responded with the same amount in the top of the seventh inning to come away with a 9-8 victory in a junior varsity softball contest played Wednesday.

Bolinger led off with a triple and with one out Alexis Brandon reached on a walk and Futral followed with a single to load the bases and Madison Maxey followed with a single that brought Bolinger home with the tying run.

In the top of the seventh, EC had their rally as Taylor led off with a single and advanced when Ferguson reached on an infield error.
Lecouna singled to load the bases for Cook who had bases clearing double to cut the margin to 8-6 and she was able to take third on a throw from the outfield to the plate.
After an infield fly, Cook was able to score from third on a single from Kenadie Cooper who came home with the tying run on a triple by Byars.
In one of the more unusual moves in softball Ashleigh Campbell hit a ball of Northgate second baseman Madison Edwards and the ball rolled to first baseman Sarah Turi who picked up the ball and tagged the bag to nail Campbell.
However, Byars was able to come home from third with the go ahead run for EC and Ferguson was able to retire the side in order in the bottom of the seventh to end the game.
