Frady, Burgess, Kenty leads offense while Howell records a save for EC freshmen in victory over McIntosh

Logan Frady and Jordan Kenty each had two hits and two RBIs Friday evening as the East Coweta Indians defeat the McIntosh Chiefs 6-4 in a freshman baseball game played in Sharpsburg.
The Indians improved to 5-3-1 and will travel to LaGrange on Monday to face the Troup County Tigers.
The Indians threatened to take the lead in the bottom of the first inning as Frady reached on a two out single, Daniel Smith reached on an infield error and Ashton DeLoach was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
Kenty came through for the Indians as he lined a single into center field to score Frady and Smith to give the home team a 2-0 lead.
McIntosh scored a run in the top of the third inning on a two out single by Braxton Roop and tied the game at 2-2 when EC missed turning a double play in the top of the fourth inning.
However, the Indians came back to regain the lead in the bottom of the frame with four runs.
Kenty singled and came around to score the first run on a triple by Jacob Burgess who came home on a one out single by Austin Bunn.
Jonathan Williams was hit by a pitch and moved to second on a double play before coming home on a two-run single by Frady.
The Chiefs rallied in the top of the fifth inning with two runs on a bases loaded walk to Will Wheeler and a fielders choice by losing pitcher Brycon Beccara that cut the Indians’ lead to 6-4.
After the first out in the top of the sixth inning, the Chiefs threatened to tie the game as the next two batters reached on consecutive walk and Jacob Howell was brought into the game to end the threat.
Howell, who had a strong start Monday night in a win over Troup County, came through for EC as he induced a flyball to Levi Wilson in left field and ended th threat by getting a pop fly to DeLoach at second for the third out.
In the top of the seventh, Howell was able to end the game quickly as he retired the first batter on strikes and retired the next two on a pop fly to shortstop and a ground ball to DeLoach at second.
