Lynch, Wright combine on no-hitter,two hits for Agan and Gunter in 8-0 win

SHARPSBURG-If the Alexander Lady Cougars anticipated a break once Kelley Lynch was replaced on the pitching rubber Wednesday by Aniston Wright they never got it.
Lynch and Wright combined to recorded 15 strikeouts and toss a no-hitter from the rubber while contributing to the offense in an 8-0 win for the East Coweta Lady Indians in a non-region varsity contest..
The win improved the Lady Indians' record to 9-0 on the season.
After Lynch breezed through the top of the first inning with three strikeouts, the Lady Indians scored twice in the bottom of the first to take the lead.
Lilly Agan led of with a triple and after one out scored on a sacrifice fly to right by Lynch while Ashlynn Gunter and Wright drilled back-to-back doubles for the other run.
In the bottom of the second inning, EC added to the lead as Hanna Miller showed off her power by drilling a shot over the left field fence for a solo home run 
Meanwhile, Carmen Prior followed by reaching on a walk and raced around the bases after double by Agan who later scored a run on a wild pitch to give the Lady Indians a 5-0 cushion.
The Lady Indians added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth as Lynch doubled and Gunter followed with a two-run shot over the left center field fence to account for a 7-0 lead.
In the top of the sixth inning, Wright took over for Lynch and her 12 strikeout, two walk evening by showing no mercy on the Alexander bats as all three batters were swinging and missing to make for a quick frame. 
The final run of the game came in the bottom of the sixth as Olivia Davis reached on a one out triple and was able to come home on a single by Lynch.
Gunter, Agan and Rachel Vaughan each had two hits in the game for the Lady Indians who will travel to Mableton for a Region 2-7A game at Pebblebrook.

Meanwhile, the EC junior varsity proved merciless as they batted around in the third inning to come away with a 10-2 five inning win.
Alexander took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning on a home run but the Lady Indians came back in the bottom of the frame with the tying run as Katie Taylor scored on a single by Ashleigh Griffin.
The Lady Cougars regained the lead in the top of the third with a run but the Lady Indians sent 14 batters to the plate and scored eight runs to take a 9-2 cushion.
Savanna Murphy led off with a double and moved to third on a sacrifice attempt that resulted in an error that allowed Murphy to score the tying run and Kenadie Cooper to reach base and take second on the play.
A bunt single by Jaliyah Holmes moved Cooper to third and after Holmes stole second, Ansley Gunter drilled a double to right center that scored both baserunners and give EC a 4-2 lead.
Winning pitcher Olivia Cook, Kaliyah Matthews and Katie Taylor drilled consecutive doubles that gave the Lady Indians a 7-2 lead while Taylor would eventually score on a wild pitch.
After the first two outs of the inning were finally recorded, Kourtney White reached on an infield error and after Murphy reached on a walk, the Lady Cougars commited another error and White came home with the inning's final tally.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Lady Indians added their final run of the gam as Wiggins reached on a one out single and eventually scored on a single by Murphy.
As for pitching, Cook went through the first three innings allowing three hits, one earned run and recording four strikouts before Kyl;ie Ferguson took over in the fourth retiring all six batters she faced with two strikeouts.
