Perfection by Savage, stormy hit by Weathers set tone on National Daughters Day for EC

SHARPSBURG-Jada Savage had a perfect Monday evening for East Coweta as the Lady Indians were 9-0 winners over the Jackson Red Devils.
The Lady Indians, who host the Northgate Lady Vikings on Wednesday, improved to 21-2 on the season with the home victory on National Daughters Day.
Through the first four innings, the name of the game pitching as Savage was carving through the Red Devils lineup via the strikeout route including the final 10 batters.

strikeouts and pitched a perfect game.

Meanwhile, her opponent in the circle Kylee Lawrence was pitching in and out of trouble as she kept EC baserunners stranded.
The game remained scoreless until the floodgates opened in the bottom of the fifth inning as EC scored all of their runs in the contest.
Addie Joiner and Madisyn Weathers opened the frame by reaching on back-to-back doubles for the first run of the game.
Mallory Lumpkins followed with an RBI single and after a single by Savage, Riley Ratzlaff moved Lumpkins and courtesy runner Jenna Helmly into scoring position.
Maggie Stubbs loaded the bases by reaching on a walk and Kate Miller followed with a sacrifice fly to left field that scored Lumpkins.
Madison Duffel would reach on an infield single to reload the bases and Payton Roberson followed by reaching on a walk that scored Helmly.

The home run was her 12th of the season.


For the second time in the inning, Joiner came to the plate and reached base for the fourth time in the game with an RBI single to set the stage for Weathers.
Weathers continued her power surge for EC by drilling the first offering from Lawrence over the fence in left center field for a grand slam that ended the game.
The home run was Weathers' 12th home run of the season.
As for Savage, the sophomore hurler had a solid evening as 42 of the 55 pitches thrown were for strikes and 10 of her 12 strikeouts were of the swinging variety.
She also had a solid evening at the plate by going 3-for-3 in aiding her own cause. 
PINK OUT: The Lady Indians will host the Northgate Lady Vikings on Wednesday beginning at 4:30 with the junior varsity game and the varsity game to follow.
A pink out will be held with ceremonies planned.
